Hey Folks, pulling my hair out, read all the old posts with not luck.
New setup, android phone, can't get the phone to show up as a device.
Geofence shows me correctly, trigger geofence event button does nothing, like its dead.
I went through the directions, set the phone up, permissions etc.
All other devices work, just cant get the phone to show up.
Welcome to the Hubitat Community!
Have you followed the directions below?
Mobile App | Hubitat Documentation
Your Hub must be registered to the Hubitat Cloud. Then, when you first run the Hubitat mobile app on your phone, it should prompt you to log into your Hubitat Cloud Account. Doing so should them prompt you to select a Hubitat hub (if you have more than one), and then it should create a Hubitat Mobile App device on your Hubitat hub. Use a web browser to connect to the Hubitat hub's local LAN IP address, and then view the list of Devices on the hub. You should see the mobile phone app device listed there.

Hi & Thanks,
Initial set-up it automatically found 2 thermostats and created them as mobile apps. I set them up for presence and geo loco.
My phone or tablet were never auto discovered. The app would always take me straight to the menu or dashboards.
I removed the thermostats and logged in/out several times to trigger the discovery. It finally found my phone but it did not re-discover the thermostats.
I am thinking the thermostats may have impeded the phone discovery?
The thermostats are still gone, was hoping they will be re-discvered
Should it discover my Samsung android tablet?
Confused, devices cannot be manually added as a mobile app correct?
No, the Hubitat hub will not automatically discover any phones or tablets. The only way these device can be added to the Hubitat Hub is to install the Hubitat Mobile App on them, from the Apple or Google App Stores.
This does not make sense to me. Thermostats are not 'mobile apps'. They do not support geo location or presence.
What type of thermostats do you have? Please be specific with the make and model information.
Nope, that should never happen. Again, more details are needed to provide additional assistance.
See above.
Also, let's start with the basics.
- What model Hubitat Elevation Hub do you have?
- What version of the Hubitat platform software is running on your Hubitat hub?
- What type of thermostats do you have?
- What are your goals for using Hubitat?

Thanks for you help on this.
Hub C8 Pro ver. 2.4.4.151
My goal for this topic is to set the integrated modes to home, away, vacation, based on presence. I also selected use wifi for presence.
My Honeywell thermostats (using Resideo app) support geo loco, presence and web based control. Ill get you the model #s.
The hub definitely auto-discovered them and asked me to build them as mobile apps no doubt about it. If they come back I will screen shot for you. I tied them both to the modes. If either one indicated arrive or leave it would change the mode. Was working fine.
I was surprised because they are not Z-wave however they are on wifi/LAN.
I was using the mobile app on both my phone and tablet always local vs cloud, neither discovered for 4 days until I deleted the thermostats and forced login/logout several times.
Is the Resideo app something running on your phone/tablet? If not, and it is an app on the Hubitat hub, is that a custom community provided app?
Was the C8-Pro using the built-in HomeKit Controller to connect to these thermostats? If so, then you may need to go into the thermostats and disable the HomeKit feature and then reenable it to try to get it back to being discoverable.
Just trying to understand the full picture of what might be going on.
I cannot imagine a connection between any thermostat and the ability to use the Hubitat Mobile app on your phones and tablets.

Yes the Resideo app is always running on my phone, I am guessing that is how it found them via the Hub app on my phone?
I have not enabled the Homekit controller on the tstats nor the hub, the hub app tells me it found a device using it but I have not enabled it nor tried to integrate it as a device.
I cant explain why it found the tstats when I first set-up the Hub, factory out-of-the-box, set them up as mobile apps and configured them as presence devices.
My phone was never discovered until recently, running the app, my tablet still hasnt discovered running the app, and the tstats arent coming back.
Very strange.
Nope. The Hubitat mobile app does not look for any other apps on your phone to detect devices. At least not that I have ever heard of in the last 8+ years of using Hubitat.
When you say "the hub app", please post a screenshot of what you're seeing. My guess is that you're viewing the C8-Pro hub's web-based GUI from inside the Hubitat Mobile App.
In general, assuming you have a laptop or desktop PC, or even a tablet, it is much simpler to use a standard web browser like Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari to view the C8-Pro's web UI. Just browse to the IP address of your C8-Pro hub.
The C8-Pro hub never discovers any phones or tablets automatically. The ONLY way a Hubitat Mobile Device gets created on the C8-Pro hub is by installing the Hubitat Mobile App on your phone or tablet, and then logging in to the Huibitat cloud, which links the Hubitat Mobile phone app to the correspond Hubitat hub. This is 100% user initiated by logging into the Hubitat Mobile app on your phone or tablet. Make sure that when logging into the second device, you do not inadvertently select an existing Hubitat Mobile Device that already exists on your hub. You want the Hubitat Mobile app to create a new one for the new phone/tablet device.
Yea, not sure how they would ever just come back on their own. I am not a Honeywell thermostat user, and thus do not have any experience with how they are typically integrated with the hub. Since you mention the hub has 'discovered' them as potential HomeKit devices, it sounds like these are WiFi thermostats, and not Zigbee or Z-Wave. Thus, you will either need to add them as HomeKit devices (does not require any Apple devices) or possibly some sort of cloud integration. Tagging the @ambassadors group to see if any of them are familiar with Honeywell thermostats.

I just installed the Resideo app on my tablet and logged into the hub app on my tablet, it just asked me to add my tablet as a mobile device
Correlation does not equal causation.
But that is kind of weird.

Yes, that sounds normal. Is that not what you are expecting?
Or are you still having trouble getting your phone to work correctly with the app?
(Sorry I did not ready this entire thread so this may not be relevant anymore)
If you have the Android app installed and logged in, Go to the Menu > App Settings, on there it will show you the "Device Name" which is the name of the virtual device on the hub that your mobile is linked to. Also it will show the hub name in case you have multiple hubs.
Hello, no was having trouble getting phone and tablet to show up, had to delete tstats and trigger loggin/logout , for some reason it found the tstats and not my phone or tablet. Wheni installed tstat app on tablet it found the tablet
