Hello guys, Im totally new with this Hubitat Hub, I never had one like this one, Im only using a Hue Hub, Alexa and Eufy door bell in my home, so nothing crazy. Im excited to learn and have everything in one place however Im trying to do one simple task and that is after doing some reading and watching some videos.
I reset the Hue Bulb, I as able to add the Hube Hub and the Hue Bulb however Im in the Device Test Command window and trying to test the light bulb like it was suggested in the video but the light bulb is not taking the command, it wont turn off, its on now.
I do see the on, off, refresh, set level and current status is blank. When I click on off to see if it works it does not do anything.
One thing I noticed was that if I remove this device the light flickers once. I have removed this like 4 times, same thing.
Is there anything Im missing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Sounds like you have both a Hue Bridge and a Hue bulb, but it's not clear to me how you're adding either (or both) to Hubitat. Let's start from the beginning. You can add the bulb one of two ways:
- as a regular Zigbee device, directly paired to Hubitat; or
- via Hubitat's built-in Hue Bridge integration (or a similar community solution, if you prefer), with the bulb paired to your Hue Bridge network
Either way technically works, and the first sounds easier, but I'd recommend the second, especially since you already have the Hue Bridge. This will avoid problems that some smart bulbs have on "regular"/mixed Zigbee networks, where they don't repeat properly for non-bulb devices and can cause mesh network problems. A Hue Bridge avoids that, in part by keeping them on their own network instead of your hub's Zigbee network.
To add the Hue Bridge integration, I'd follow the directions here, then come back and post if you have any problems:

Hi Robert Im not sure if I did it right, I replied to your question. Did you get the two screenshots ?
No, I don't see any posts above the reply you just made.
If your account is new, it's possible you can't post screenshots yet (you should get the ability automatically if you stick around for a while, reading and/or posting, or staff could bump your account manually). In the meantime, if you can describe what you did, maybe that would work?
