Phantom Hub Mesh devices showing in Rule creation

I have an old C5 that was taken offline years ago. It was connected to my C8 through Hub Mesh. When I am building rules on the C8 hub and I Select Devices all of the devices that were shared from the C5 hub are showing up as Offline. However, I don't see them in the Hub Mesh so don't know how to get rid of them? Thanks.

Treat them like any other virtual device that you don't want anymore, i.e. go to the device tab, open the virtual device and hit Remove down near the bottom.

They don't show in devices, only when I am building rules.

Example:

Bump on this one. Anything I can do to remove these phantom devices? Thanks.

Agree with the @thebearmay go to the device list and search for “offline” and they should all appear. Then delete them.

I posted a picture of my device list filtered by offline. There is nothing there.

This makes no sense. @gopher.ny

For S&G, can you filter on “HubitatC5”?

Good thought but no. I think my label of "Phantom" seems to fit.

See if they show up in either of these endpoints. If they do you can get the ID numbers, and with that might be able to delete them.

/hub2/devicesList
/device/listJson?capability=capability.*

The second endpoint exposes them:

{"id":2493,"name":"OFFLINE - Conservatory Current Temperature on HubitatC5","label":null,"displayName":"OFFLINE - Conservatory Current Temperature on HubitatC5"}

500 devices! I don't remember ever sharing that many devices through hub mesh in the past.

Please don't tell me I have to extract the ids one by one and delete them?

Well that was my idea. Other option is to wait for staff to figure something out.

I think there might be a special endpoint to delete a device directly. If we find that I could take your JSON output and turn it into a list of clickable links.

/device/forceDelete/<devID>/yes

Used to work

Works! I fed the JSON to Claude and asked it to spit out a bash script. Ran it and all gone. Weird. Thanks everyone for the help.
