I've just finished replacing Geofency with OwnTracks--all the regions are setup and the necessary presence eventing is working well.
I had no real issues with Geofency but found the additional metadata offered by OwnTracks appealing hence the switch. My question relates to that additional metadata becoming stale in the event no movement/significant movement events are triggered. Is there a way to force an update on a given cycle, say every 90 mins or the like?
FWIW, It's usually best to put integration questions in the integration release topic, so folks using it (and most importantly the developer) are most likely to see it.
I'm assuming you're using this community integration when you say "Owntracks" but maybe you're using something else?
Good to know--it comprises an app and 2 drivers hence my choice to put it here but happy to follow established etiquette. @Hubitat_Staff , please feel free to move this thread as proposed above if beneficial.
Yes, my bad--I should've mentioned the specific community integration I'm using; it is:
It's not required, but is considered considerate to the developer so they don't have to jump all over the forum to find/respond to questions, and other integration users benefit from easily finding/seeing the discussions that may affect/inspire them.
You could simply copy your initial post from here to the Owntracks topic and make note that you've done that in a post here if you want to.
The idea is to put the question into the existing Owntracks Release topic that was created by the developer, rather than creating a new topic here or in the Integration section. I should have been more specific.
But don't worry about any making more changes, this isn't a huge deal.
