Osram Lightify ON at Random Times

My Osram lightify Zigbee bulbs are coming on a random times. I can turn them on and off with no problem. No event is recorded nor any log entry when the bulb comes on at these random times.

Any ideas on how to fix this.

If there are no events on the device page, then the possibilities are that:

  1. The bulbs are going bad, or
  2. There is a momentary interruption of power on specific circuits

Ha, I have about 18 of the Sylvania/Osram bulbs. They do this, not sure why. One time it was Google doing something stupid. The other time it was an Aqara Opple switch, that had become unpaired, when that happens the switch defaults back to its original config, where the 1 button issues a broadcast or group message(not sure which) that turns on many Zigbee bulbs.

Do you have them connected to Alexa in any way? People have reported Alexa hunches like to do things like that. Turn off hunches.

I have a bunch of old Sylvania bulbs and the issue I had was with them falling off the mesh. Turns out it was due to them working poorly as repeaters. I ended up putting all my bulb on a separate mesh. I don't remember them turning on randomly but it has been several years.

Especially if you have been updated (with or without your knowledge) to Alexa+. I had my hunches off and found out through a random light coming on that I had been upgraded to Alexa+ even though I specifically DID NOT upgrade it on my own.

Seems that Amazon new better what I wanted than I did (/s). I also learned the phrase, "Alexa, end early access"

Yeah, mine auto updated too. It is so slow now. I keep thinking it didn't hear me. On top of that my Echo Show only displays the clock about 10% of the time. The rest of the time it is a blank screen. The clock function is all I used the screen for.

This phrase can fix that (at least for now)
