I received the C8 pro hub yesterday 25th June 2025, I plugged it into a spare RJ45 on my router. The LED flashed GREEN then very briefly RED and then stayed BLUE, no matter how long I waited it stayed blue. No matter what I did, quick start couldn't see my Hub. I then removed the network and attempted to register the hub using WiFi. I found the MyNewHub wifi and entered my wifi details, then switched back to my home wifi. The LED light then turned green.
No matter what I did, I couldn't get the desktop app or the mobile one to find my C8Pro. I entered the Mac address & the IP address into the advanced discovery and it still didn't work! I also tried using the Hubitat Diagnostic Tool with my IP address, That just produced a blank page in Google Chrome browser. I did try the reset button with no effect, I would have expected the LED's to flash I doubt it did anything!
I have spent many hours trying to get this to work, between reading numerous help documentation and forum posts.
I was so excited at the fast delivery of this Hub from the US. Unfortunately It's been a major disappointment! However I think it has a fault and needs replaced, I have just contacted support! However, If you have any ideas which might spark it into life .. Brilliant!
Thank you for your feedback and sorry for the troubles. Unfortunately, based on your description it sounds like you might need a replacement. When you get a chance, could you please create a warranty case, if you didn't already, so we can further investigate? Warranty – Hubitat Support
Also reaching out to you in a private message to get more details about your hub.
It's great to get such a fast personal response..
Since my first message I did try a Windows PC rather than my Chromebooks and Android mobile, but it made no difference..
I think you're right.. I do need to set a warranty claim.. I thought I'd done that, but I doubt I did it properly.
I can't think of anything else to try ..
With an across the Atlantic return, I'll just have to resign myself to delay before I join the Hubitat user Community... that's ok!
Hi jtp10181
Sorry for the delayed reply, I was away for the weekend.
Thanks for your advice reg my C8 Pro..
I did try the reset button many times with varying wait times, mostly over the recommended 7 Seconds with no luck.
With the diagnostic tool http://[ip addr]:8081/
On the same wifi, Google gives me the "Site can't be reached" & "is unreachable"
I think I've tried everything.. many times!
Unfortunately! I'm one of those people who read every forum post, I even read instruction manuals before breakfast. :0)
If you do have any ideas?
But! I've now re-packaged the item and await warranty claim return instructions!
Once again big thanks for your help & advice.
Reg Robert
No luck in that it did not fix it? Or the LED did not flash and hub did not reboot (led goes off then back on again when it reboots).
Are you sure your hub and PC (whatever you tried the diag tool from) are on the same LAN? If you have guest networks or VLANS that might prevent you from connecting to the hub.
I guess you will find out when you get a replacement, if you still have the same issue then it is probably a local networking problem.
Based on what I saw here I put in a warranty request for a replacement. I haven't heard back yet, though - is there something else I should do? My experience has been essentially the same as what is described in this thread.
Hi Mateagar.. I did make a warranty claim and received a replacement C8-Pro it arrived here in the UK in just over a week. I had no luck at all with the original one! So now I'm in the middle of trying to the get Hubitat set-up, i was delighted to see a green light!
I coming from a Tuya Setup which has been working great for a few years. I'm finding Hubitat to be a very steep learning curve. I haven't even managed to get a basic light bulb working. But I'll keep trying! I'm sure the rewards will be worthwhile!
Sorry for the delays. We are running behind due to the US holiday, but I think we will be caught up by the end of the day, so you should hear back from us shortly.

I started with Hubitat a little over a year ago. We're selling our house, I'm leaving the old one there, and getting a new one for the new place. I've been overall quite happy with the system. IMO, it's the best out there of the DIY home automation stuff. (I say this having run my own home automation startup for 6 years and having worked at another one for 3 years after that.)
