Has anyone else noticed the Onkyo commands dont work right away after a few minutes of idle time. I can push a button and nothing happens and after about 30 seconds or so the commands execute. After that they are immediate again until you don't use them for a while. It is like it times out, wakes up and then work again. Seeing this with the latest update.
I'm not seeing this with my AVR.
Telnet does take several seconds to initialize after system startup, is this what you observed?
Thank you Mike for checking, yeah last night it seemed slow to respond after a few minutes of no activity but this morning it seems to be more responsive. I see that the driver initialization interval is every 4 minutes, is that adjustable or should it be?
huh?, the inbuilt driver currently doesn't have anything running on a schedule, if you have a scheduled job in the driver running initialize every 4 minutes, that's all of your issue, this must have come from another driver.
you can clear that out by changing over Device driver which has a command to remove scheduled jobs.
Your right I did have a schedule to run initialize every 4 minutes, I turned that off. I still loose the link every so often, were I push the volume up button, and nothing for about 30 sec to 1 min and then the volume will increase. After that then everything works instantly again. I didn't see any of this until I updated to the latest update. Something must have changed. Thank you for your help.
@mike.maxwell this is an example of the delay I see every not and then, In this case I pushed the button on the Pico remote, but it is the same if I click the volume up or any other button in the Device with the Onkyo AVR Driver. It doesn't do this all the time, after it does this it is instantly responsive for a while, then it seems it goes to sleep and needs a push of one of the buttons to wake up.
I am seeing the very slow response also. I installed the built in driver a while ago and it seemed to work well. I believe I was on version 2.2.4.158. I didn't notice any slow behavior at that time. Now it is extremely slow. Im on version 2.2.5.124 currently.
Yep, all was fine for me too with 2.2.4.158, then I updated to 2.2.5.120 and I started seeing the periodic delays after a button is pushed. Unfortunately @mike.maxwell doesn't seem to be seeing it on his system.
Mine has a 30-40 second delay on every command. When I push a button from the device screen, nothing appears in the logs for about 30-40 seconds. It then shows the command and the receiver responds. It does not ever get quick again like it used to be. I power cycled the Onkyo TX-NR636. I deleted the device and created a new one. With the same result. I cant say for sure if it was the update to 2.2.5 but It used to work great and now it is unusable.
