Latest platform version freezes, will not add rooms (except for showing number of "phantom" rooms in search field), unable to "deregister" upon attempt to perform a full reset. Previous version appears to be functioning properly. (Not a good start for this much-touted device).
Sorry for the inconvenience. May I ask how long you’ve had the hub, or where it was purchased from? Version 2.3.7 was released nearly two years ago, and new hubs do not typically ship with such an old version. While we make every effort to maintain backward compatibility, our regression testing generally focuses on releases from the past year or so. Because the platform evolves rapidly, upgrading from much older versions can occasionally lead to unexpected issues.
Brand new. Right out of the box. Upon installation, it took several reboots for the system to record time zone, temp scale, etc. Adding "Rooms" produced nothing, but the system appeared to count the number of added rooms in the search field. Eventually, the system froze. Fumbling with the "Diagnostics Tool" (in an effort to perform a full reset) produced a message to the effect that the hub could not be unregistered. Thereafter, it appeared that I was successful in installing a previous version of the platform. Rooms have since been successfully added.
The Diganostics Tool shows a platform version of 2.3.7.146 and selecting "Download latest version" produces the message: "Latest version 2.4.3.137 is already installed". No more freezing events (as of this message), but something is not registering / reporting correctly.
UPDATE: back to square one. Manual check for updates via Settings found and downloaded 2.4.3.137 (rounded icons, smaller logo etc.). Adding rooms no longer responds (and the search field displays the number of room adding attempts from the previous install). Reboot with "purge database" etc. does nothing. Now up to 9 "phantom" rooms in the search field.
Diagnostic Tool still shows "2.4.3.137". "Full reset" performed successfully. Same symptoms.
Going back (yet again) to 2.3.7.146 after re-registering hub (with name and local ID etc.) brings up the main screen - frozen / twirling icon - as "My new hub".
Have made the rounds. Please advise on RMA procedures so that the device may be returned for a refund.
