Odd Qestion about logs

The last few days , when ever I have logs running my computer starts acting REALLY funnny. like I can barley control the mouse to click on anything or get screen shots, it alsmost acts kind like a magnet pshing another magent away fro what ever Im tryng to click on or select. The only way I cant get out of it it to hard shut down the computer . I don't know why this would happen or what the connection is but it is only happening when I have logs running. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

If you leave the live logs open for an extended time and have a lot of logging turned on it is probably hogging a ton of PC memory. Could also be dependant on the browser you are using.

There is no reason to leave it open constantly, you can go back to past logs and filter.

I have left a live logging tab open for a long time in Chrome before and it has completely locked up the browser, and even my computer. I've learned not leave it open more than like ten minutes.

You may also want to turn off some logging. Most apps turn off debug logging automatically, but some devices, like power meters, are just spammy if you even leave text logging on.

Counterpoint: I've had live logs tab open for several years constantly. Never had any problem with it.

I think it may be a browser issue. Chrome does not seem to like live logging staying open for me. It may be related to it filling the browser cache.

I have not seen the slowing and locking so much lately, but now the page just gives up and goes white if left open. At one point I was using Firefox for live logs, it seemed to be better, but then other times not.

This is also on Windows. What OS/Browser are you using? I imagine Linux could behave much differently, but I have not tried it on Linux.

Mac, Chrome.

I imagine it is Windows then, that causes this issue. Or the Windows/Chrome combo.

I’ve never heard of such a thing! :open_mouth:

This was brave. I have previously left logs open for long periods and never encountered thsi behavior. The just started happening last week. Most of my rules do have logging disabked.
