Hi - Been having a strange Hue issue for months now. When I hit my Pico switch to trigger my kitchen cabinet hue lights, it will put them to the incorrect color and brightness settings. It seems to go back to the last setting they were on vs the setting mapped to the Pico button I just pressed. I captured a log of it a few months ago, it's still doing it on an almost daily basis. Anyone else seeing behavior similar to this?
Are these directly-paired Hue lights (i.e., Zigbee directly to Hubitat), or are they Hue Bridge lights (e.g., using the built-in Hue Bridge integration or a community alternative)? If they are directly paired to Hubitat, there have been lots of reports of Zigbee bulb problems over the years when certain commands are issued in quick succession (something like "on" or "set level" followed by "set color temperature" or something, but I don't remember the exact problematic commands or their order). I believe staff have stated they have some ideas for how to fix this that should be in the next hub firmware release, 2.2.5, but no timeline on that yet. A workaround some have found in the meantime is to put a small delay between the commands or issue the "second" one twice after a small delay. For a Pico, that could be as easy as just pressing the button again a second or so later if things aren't quite right after the first time.
If they are Hue Bridge bulbs, that would be a different problem. The Bridge is pretty reliable in my experience, so maybe something else is going on. Do you think it could be your app/rule? Feel free to share a screenshot of that configuration if so.
Are the lights being powered off by the switch? When I mean powered off is the power being cut from the lights. Or is the switch always on and just sending the command via z-wave and the hue bridge?
If the lights are being powered off completely then inside the hue app you need to adjust the power on behavior. Here you can set the lights to come on at a brightness and color that you wish.
The pico switch would be sending the commands together when turning on which wouldn't work.
Sorry for the delay in my reply. I am using the Hue bridge so it should be pretty reliable and I'm not cutting power to the Hue lights. Here is a log from when it happens, it's like it tries to set it correctly and then something is coming over the top of it to put it back. Thank you for helping out!
