Has anyone had any luck connecting the NYCE ceiling motion sensor (zigbee) to the C8-Pro?
I've migrated just over 100 zigbee devices from my C7 but have been unable to pair by 5 Nyce ceiling sensors. I found the following post and followed the suggestion but no luck.
If someone has technique to make them pair I'd be grateful if you could share it.
Occassionaly I've been able to get the device to connect but it doesn't populate attributes (i.e. wont show active/inactive). I've tried the "double luck voodo" method but to no avail.
I've had issues with ceiling and regular motion sensors in the past. The trick seems to be keep on trying, maybe change where you are pairing. I don't believe using the optional pairing methods was necessary. Another "trick" to possibly try is the Double Luck Voodoo, though the NYCE are not Zigbee 3 devices.
I think (maybe misremembering) one time I gave up after an apparent partial pairing and somehow it eventually healed itself. These sensors just tend to be a PITA to pair.
I have had trouble also with Nyce motion sensors pairing. I have 6 on my C8 pro that migrated from a C7. However I did notice that during pairing the motion sensors can get in a locked up state. See if you can find a factory reset procedure, factory reset the sensor and shutdown the hub and cut power, then try to pair within the first 5 minutes of the hub restarting. Cutting hub power will reboot & refresh the Zigbee radio.
Thanks for the tips. Have been persisting and trying different things. One thing that appears to have worked is pairing in different locations as opposed to close to the hub. Have been able to get 2 of my 6 Nyce sensors to pair so far. Persisting with the other 4 and will see how I go. Thanks again!
And now that you mention it, I see strange behavior as some Zigbee devices need to be right on top of hub to pair, while others prefer to be further away when pairing, and IIRC I had to walk away fom the hub with the Nyce sensors during pairing and it seemed to help. I can say 1 thing, once these Nyce sensors are paired, they stick really well. And also I am recalling there is a master reset to clear the registered PAN ID of the network with Nyce sensors.
Thanks for that. Funny thing is that I was able to get one of the sensors to pair as a I was walking away from the hub also. Second was on my front doorstep a good 10-15 metres away from the hub. Currently 3 paired and 3 to go. Slowly getting there.
