Notify if kids get up in the middle of the night

Thought I would share one automation that has had a very high WAF for any of you who are trying to make up WAF points.

I have a Samsung MultiPurpose sensor on both of my kid's bedroom doors. This allows us to see the temperature in their rooms but, more importantly, notifies us if their doors open.

I have set up an automation that if one of their doors opens during bedtime hours, to set the volume low on our google mini in the master bedroom, and announce a door opened. It also tells us which door with the %device% command. The peace of mind that kids aren't going to walk in on mom and dad is priceless!

This is awesome. We had my wife grandmother with us for a few years. And wouldn't you know it, she would get up at night and want to go out the front door. This is all before Hubitat was involved though.

We have a couple similar automations with our little one. The motion sensor is mounted below his bed and if it triggers while he is in bed and I'm upstairs watching a movie, it will flash one of the lights upstairs to notify me. Same thing if I'm in the den or living room. No audible alerts, but the flashing light is attention grabbing enough. We don't have it set for night time (only when his bedtime switch is activated). At night, if any door or window opens, it turns on all the lights in our bedroom and wakes us up with a sound.
