Ive been having issues with getting notifications to Android phone.
Normally an uninstall and reinstall fixes....although not ideal it works...or shouldbi say, used to work.
I renamed to old swapped devices...etc
This really shouldn't be this difficult but im getting frustrated as i need these notifications to be working.
Others will likely be able to help you more than me, but a few details that help that process could be:
- What HE platform version are you running on your HE hub?
- What version of Android are you running? Perhaps even the make/model of phone may also be of interest.
- Do you have multiple HE hub's or just one?
- Are there any particular circumstances that you have observed leading up to when you stop receiving notifications?
- Have you checked in the mobile app to see if the notifications you believe you missed are shown in the recent notifications list? i.e. is it just that the notifications were not displayed on the phone when they were sent / received, or did they not get generated at all on the HE hub.
- Can you see anything of interest in the HE logs?
- Can you share some details on how you are generating notifications from your HE hub? E.g. within an RM rule, the notifications app, etc
If possible, it may help that when you believe you are not receiving notifications on your phone that you post back here and try to work through some troubleshooting steps, including attempting to manually send a notification from the mobile device on the HE hub. I would also suggest when this happens to confirm that the mobile app is logged in / connected to the hub where the notifications are being generated.
I was trying to cover a few potential issues with the questions, probably a bit much under the circumstances.
Multiple hubs could be a possibility, or a red herring. If you ever switch between hubs in the app, depending on how you access them, this could be the issue. You will only see notifications pop up on your phone that comes from the hub the app is connected to. Could that be the issue? If you search for hubs and access another hub that way, then it is fine, the hub admin pages are just displayed in a browser and the app remains connected to the same hub.
Beyond that all I can really suggest is my last point above to try and test sending notifications to the device when you experience the issue, then see what comes up in the logs and get assistance here. But hopefully others will chime in with some other (better) suggestions.
