Is there a way to get a notification for when a wrong lock code is used? I can get a notification from a correct lock code using the "any code" as a trigger, but it does not notify me if a incorrect code is entered. Using a zwave Schlage lock with PushOver.
I'm not aware of any locks that provide this data, of the 6 or 7 different Z-Wave and Zigbee locks that I have personally tested, none of them report any indication of incorrect code usage, or attempted usage.
I thought that might be the case. Thanks.
I could be wrong about this, and will test this tonight, but I believe from my recent testing of the BE469 locks that they will send an alarm report when the wrong code is entered too many times and the lock goes into it's lock down state where it refuses to accept codes for a period of time.
Edit: I actually believe at least with the Schlage locks, looking for a zwaveAlarmEvent of 16 is an indication that the lock has had too many bad PIN attempts. Now I definitely want to test this.
yes some but not all report too many, OP wanted every...
When we get to the point of writing specific drivers for locks we can advantage these, that's a ways off however...
Share the built-in drivers to use as a base and the community will happily do it for you.
