I have followed the directions and my hub does not show up in the portal for me to register it. What now?
Power cycle the hub.
yes sir one minute
power cycled. and pingible
its there now
thank you gentlemen
I have the same issue. Power cycling doesn't change the portal page. The Hub is pingable and on the same network.
Brought the hub to work. It took a few power cycles but was discovered.
Now to take it back home and see if it works.
count me in for this same problem. i can see and ping the hub on the network.
Just got mine, it’s got an IP and can be pinged, but won’t show up. After a great many reboots. Thoughts?
It just showed up! Took about 7-8 reboots I’d say.
Hate to hijack this thread but I need to be shown as owner. I purchased the hub on Saturday I believe and got the shipping notice today. I saw somewhere on here someone else had the same problem and an admin fixed it. Thanks.
Hi there, please check your private messages. Thanks
I must have tried over a hundred times following the above advice but I can’t see my hub to register.
Quick Q… when you power cycle the hub how long does it take for a solid blue light ? Mine takes about 1/2 sec with just a brief red flash before - that seems very fast, I am not sure it is even booting. There is not supposed to be a micro SD card included in the device is there ?
That’s what mine looks like as well: brief red flash then solid blue almost immediately when plugged in. It boots quite fast and is pingable within a few seconds. Can you ping the IP of your hub?
Yes, ping works fine. You registered yours OK did you ?
There should not be any micro SD card in. Please reach out to support@hubitat.com if you haven’t already.
The hub should boot up quickly and within about 5 minutes it should show up in portal as long as both your hub and computer accessing the portal are on the same lan subnet.
Yes; as Patrick says give it some time. When I powered mine up for the first time I spent quite a while re-arranging stuff before I even tried accessing it on the web interface and by the time I did it was ready to go.
Patrick,
I wonder if it would be possible to modify the firmware to use the LED to somehow indicate whether or not the hub has successfully connected/registered to the portal? Maybe go from SOLID RED, to BLINKING BLUE (up, but not in portal yet), to SOLID BLUE (connected to portal and ready for user)
Or something along these lines. Might save your users a lot of frustration, and minimize support cases…
Just a thought…
Thanks for the suggestion, I don’t know if its possible, but I’ll pass it on.
