When I try to discover my new HUB I only get a response from the
"Discover hub(s) via mDNS search:" button, but when I click the button I get the error,
# This page isn’t working
**hubitat.local** didn’t send any data.
ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE
I am in a remote location with only Cellular Data. My Hotspot is T-Moblle mimo M2000. I am using a TPLINK RE450 extender with an ethernet port to which I plug in my C-7 Hub.
Can't seem to use the Mac address button or IP range to discover the Hub. I have used both Safari and Chrome browsers. My PC is a Mac Pro
It is possible mDNS is not supported by the hotspot router. Finding by MAC may not work because often those range extenders modify the start of the MAC before they send the packets back to the main router. I looked up the M2000, it has a web interface and acts as a basic router. You will need to log into that and see what IP the hub has taken. If it supports setting a DHCP reservation on the IP I would do that so it always gets the same one.
Thanks so very much Jeff!
Is there a definite name for this hub that can be seen in the routers admin page? I see 3 hubs listed there with unclear names. I have in the past tried Vera and Ezlo hubs but they are not powered.
Not sure, I have mine set with custom hostnames on my router. If there is only 3 why not just try each IP and see if one of them works? http://ip.address/
I have tried everything including soft reset with no success. Every other device works fine. I keep getting errors like corrupt database. Soft reset just hangs. In light of the fact that I had no such troubles with my other c7 at the other residence, I think I just got a bad apple.
also the tplink extender may be double nat'g you.... could be giving everything the same MAC as the extender, or be using it's own internal DHCP server

that quote on "Wi-Fi privacy separation” came from the doc for the M2000
I also use a extender for the garage (RE550), and know that had a dhcp server option, not sure about the RE450, it also does some weird things like showing all 3 ip's as belonging to one mac address in fing, never had a hubitat behind it - maybe connect directly to the M2000 to rule that out
