New to Hubitat and tying to get A a Nortek hub/device to work with the Hubitat Hub. Coming from Home Assistant. Completely lost getting this device to work.
What device specifically?
(If you're talking about the Nortek HUSBZB-1 USB stick that is sometimes used as a Zigbee and/or Z-Wave radio and you have a Hubitat model C-7, it won't work; if you have a C-5, it could theoretically work but isn't needed--on either of these models--as the hub has built-in radios. If you're on a C-3/C-4, that's pretty unlikely at this point but isn't a device that needs to be "paired.")
Have a C7 so what do I do to get a Sonoff wireless switch to work ?
Is it Zigbee, like the Sonoff ZBMINI? They have a variety of products, including some Wi-Fi ones that don't work (at least not natively; there may be community solutions).
If so, the manual says that pressing the button for 5 seconds should reset it, which should make it ready to pair to Hubitat. Other devices may vary, but in general, for Zigbee, you'll need to reset them or put them in pairing mode (often the same process).
If not, here is a list of devices known to work: List of Compatible Devices | Hubitat Documentation. There are more, with or without custom drivers, but this is a good place to start.
Just got a Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 usb Dongle Plus and tying to pair this in Habitat devices. I flashed the device with the firmware suggested on the Habitat web site. I can not seem to get it to pair, what am I doing wrong?
The "Hubitat website" itself would not suggest any particular firmware for this device. Did you see it in a Community forum thread (here)? If so, someone in that thread may have a better idea. But from what I know, in general, you'd need router (not coordinator) firmware, then need to performance whatever step to put it in pairing mode(which I think involves pressing one of the buttons inside the case).
However, I don't currently have one in use so won't be much help beyond that. Nothing here, besides putting Hubitat in Zigbee pairing mode, should really be Hubitat-specific, however, so anything you read about adding it as a router/repeater to any network would apply here, too.
Thanks for the reply. I have been on YouTube to see how to pair this, but still struggling a little. I used Home Assistant before Habitat and it it relatively simple to add the device there
Why are you trying to pair a dongle? This isn't Home Assistant where you need to have external sticks, the radios are all built into the hub.
It is easy to add devices here too. You don't need any special Zigbee or Z-wave sticks, just be sure the device is factory reset, go into the Add Devices menu, select in your case Zigbee, and put the device into pairing mode.
I finding that some devices like Xiaomi Mijia Smart Light Sensor GZCGQ01LM keeps falling over. The idea is to use the stick to try and make these more stable.
But are you trying to add the stick as a router/repeater, as I assumed above? That should work, though I don't know why or where it's failing for you. It won't work to add it as a coordinator; only the internal radios on the C-7 can do that.
