Does anyone know if the app, Zone Motion Controller, does the same thing as if I input two motion sensors nodes into a switch node in Node-Red??
No.
The scenario you describe comes closest to "motion aggregation" in the zone motion controller app. There are other types of motion zones possible in zone motion controller. While it is possible to recreate all of zone motion controller in Node-RED, it requires more than connecting two device nodes to the same switch node.
