Running C-8 on 2.3.9.166
None of my zwave devices are responding to actions, however their status' are updating in the UI.
A zwave repair results in all nodes failing to ping / repair
I have shutdown the hub (from the settings menu) waited a few minutes and turned it back on, to no avail.
I have also rebooted it a few times with the same result.
Unsure what to try or what else may be useful for troubleshooting.
Cheers!
If you want this to do anything for Z-Wave, you'll also need to pull power (for set least 30 seconds or so) after shutdown.
I would not recommend Z-Wave repairs for this.
Have you tried any of the other steps here?
Finally, have you narrowed down the problem to Z-Wave specifically?
Shutting down and leaving for 10 minutes before turning back on got things going again, only for a short period tho. Things stopped working again shortly after.
I will have a look through that doco. I have set my 6 aeotec smart switch v6 to the recommended settings from that page.
I am not sure what you mean by "narrowed the problem down to zwave specifically". I do not have Matter enabled and have no zigbee devices. No zwave device will action when commanded from the UI ut the status will update if I physically turn on a light or open contact sensor.
That's pretty much what I meant, difficult to ascertain in your case. If you have (or wanted to create) any virtual devices, you could rule out broader problems that way, I suppose.
Are you using the supplied stock antennas? Try shutting down and then swapping them, in case the one on the z-wave side is defective.

I haven't changed the supplied antenna, only their orientation. I guess I can try swapping them, if one is faulty what's my recourse?
One is Z-Wave, one is Zigbee. If you have no Zigbee devices, you don't need the antenna for that radio.
EDIT: The antennae are the same.
They need to be pointing straight up or down (perpendicular to the ground).
Any other direction and the radio wave will not be shaped correctly.
Probably unless the device was directly below or above. That happened to me, I think, with a switch in the basement.
6 devices? Only z-wave?
If this can't be fixed, nothin' can. ![]()
Good thread for info.
I hope she keeps it updated!
Zwave network seems to have settled down.
I have turned off all the debugging logging from all the devices where it was enabled - I have no clue if this reduces any load on the hub but it wasn't really helpful for me, so it can't hurt to turn off.
I have 100 zwave devices, I just have 6 of the more noisy devices with the smart metering and energy reporting.
I have swapped antenna to see if that makes any difference and orientated them both to point upwards.
Thanks all for the help, much appreciated!
