No love for TLS?

@bravenel why does docs2.hubitat.com not support TLS?

This is coming.

Coming? There is no excuse for Internet-facing web properties not supporting and defaulting to TLS.

I must be missing something, but it sounds like you're upset that a documentation site doesn't have port 443 redirected?

Just that there isn't HTTPS (available or default) on the public docs2 site at this time. It is already on our list and just didn't make the cut for initial release, which we wanted to coincide with 2.3.3. Impact for users should be minimal, given that there is no sensitive content on the public side (e.g., logins). But the request is still understood and will be implemented when the staff this is assigned to has availability. (This is one part I can't do. )

It’s not available at all. I’m not upset, just wondered how a company that is trying to make its name known in the home automation world would neglect something like that in this day and age. Yes, it’s small and doesn’t matter, which is why I’m in the lounge. But I did get an email from Hubitat and the new docs page had its own section.

And no, I don’t run TLS on my Hubitat :). Do as I say, not as I do

We were running as fast as we could with this release. We went from a dev environment with the new docs2 site as http, to a public release so that these improved docs could come out with the 2.3.3 release. There were a lot of moving parts all happening at once. A decision was made that it was better to push out the news docs still in http, than to deal with https issue and hold up what was already a pressing release. For your money, perhaps the wrong judgment call. But as you said, our belief was "it’s small and doesn’t matter", although actually we knew all about it and think it does matter. We prioritized.

Sorry, but that is way down on the priority list. Don't hold your breath...

Correct. It matters essentially not at all for a docs site...

Now you're putting words in my mouth. Not good. It's not like you're in a position to know what our priorities are and why. I understand that you have your opinion, but you're not the one having to prioritize competing demands against a finite set of resources.

Your right. You did not say that and i apologize.

Its just implied in my mind by your comment but thats just my opinion.
