No in-line zigbee switches have ground connections?

If I'm putting any of these between a hard wired device like a ceiling light fixture or a ceiling fan, how would you ground that device?

Jon the ground from the input to the ground wiring for the output

Hmmm, okay. Do you know if the devices need to be in a work box? I assume the joined ground would need to be, and have a hard time seeing this working for some of these (like the Nue which is almost 5" long).
