New Zwave Firmware

The latest 2.4.4.130 release has an option for updating ZWave firmware but it is beta. Normally I am trying to avoid any beta fw/sw. Currently hub is set for ZwaveJS anf frankly I am not happy with ZWaveJS performance - to...o many random delays.
So the question is - should I try new beta ZWave fimware?
And if I install it, can it be rolled back?

No.

Dozens of folks have tried and used the new ZWave firmware via the Beta program. I believe its rollout there was drama free hence the addition to the main code.

You can wait a few days/weeks to see how it goes with others but if Beta was any barometer it shouldn't be a huge risk.

Too late for me.

Nice to know but too bad.
I don't like this "one way ticket" aproach.
Option to roll back something experimental is kind of a must.

Limitation of the tech.. It can only go up, not down..

Not experimental.. It is GA release firmware version..

In fairness the code has been GA from silicon labs since August 2025 so its had a while to settle out.

Understood (I am EE).

So. will you recommend to install this update?
My toda's main goal is stability, stability, stability ...
Unfortunatelly the ZWave with the ZWaveJS is not stable - to...o many random delays.
But I am tired to switch back an force between ZIP and ZWaveJS.
The reason is - ZIP seems to be EOL but ZWaveJS is a way to go.

Not without a little risk.. Out of everyone who has done this so far, only 1 has ended in failure..

This could be many things, including some that is fixed in this firmware update.
There was also a rate limit in ZWaveJS code that was trying to address the controller jammed messages found in 7.18/7.22 firmware that is mostly fixed in 7.23 firmware. :crossed_fingers:

OK, I will try the new ZWave firmware even this is only one way ticket and see if it improves ZWave behavior.

I updated my firmware and I am also using the z-waveJS and all is good so far. My C-8pro is only a couple of months old. The pro seems to be a little faster than my previous C-8 in all aspects.

OK, firmware is updated, switching to the ZWaveJS was done few month ago.
Let me see if these all together will play an orcestra (I believe it should one day).

Well as of right now it would seem that all of the issues I had previously running JS are no longer there after uprgrading to 2.4.4.130 and updating to ZW firmware.

What goes up, must not come down, said Silicon Labs

WRONG STATEMENT!
Roll back option ALWAYS must be available.

My zwave after the FW update.
Shutdown - unplug - reboot = same result.
Yes it a C8 pro.

Can you please send us your hub ID @support_team team

Sorry for the delay

Could you say generally what the issues were or point to a link? Did it have anything to do with mis reporting of device state changes?
