I am going to return this sensor if I don't get a response from THRIDREALTIY. A sensor should fail after just 2 run days.

Just reporting in that I received mine and am using the @John_Land driver and so far works great. I am not really using or looking at the Air Quality functions as my use case was more for the mmWave sensor.

Initially paired device and Hubitat picked the stock driver but it seemed like it was missing a bunch of data and parameters. Much happier with the current one I am using.

If you do start to run into issues @SergL just load up the debug driver I posted here. I will give the raw clusters and highlight the one that containers the air quality readings. That driver just writes out the log file nothing more.

I havent been home much but will take a look tonight at the logs and see what they look like. Would be curious to see if I can spot the same issues.

Just noting 3R has released a firmware update: Smart Presence Sensor R3 – ThirdReality

I tried updating using the built-in driver but it doesn’t seem to be available yet.
@mike.maxwell can we expect this firmware update to be available anytime soon??

If you're in a real hurry, and don't mind going back and forth, does the Third Reality app allow you to connect directly to this device to do FW updates? If so, I think you could remove the 3R from your hub, connect it to the 3R mobile app, update the device FW, and then add it back to HE. Since it's Zigbee it should slot right back into any automations you've added it to on your hub.

I don't have any 3R Zigbee devices so no idea if above is feasible or not... :man_shrugging:

Good thinking, but unfortunately, no. It's Zigbee only and the phone app asks for a TR hub or smart speaker (which I didn't know existed) to connect to the device.

Did you use the stock HE driver to update? I’m at v1.00.27, not been able to update to v1.00.35.

Nope, rolled my own custom driver. Shouldn’t matter, unless the system driver doesn’t show a “Update Firmare” button?

00000028 translates to 1.00.40, which is not mentioned on their website…

No, the system driver does show a FW update button. I’m not sure it works…

EDIT: I just checked a minute after I wrote this, the system driver update worked!

I can’t get it to update using the built-in driver. What’s your secret?

I was running my own driver for the R3 (it’s in a link above in this thread). I changed the Type to “DEVICE” and used the Command tab to clear everything clearable. I then switched the Type to the system R3 driver, saved, and clicked on the Update Firmware command. At that point, walk away for 30-60 minutes. Refresh your browser and look at the softwareBuild version, the system driver reports “00000028“ for the latest version. Then, if desired, revert the Type to whatever R3 driver you want.

Now y’all will have to report back on any improvements in behavior. Mine seems to be a bit sporadic with its presence reporting accuracy.

@John_Land Got my firmware updated! I’ve been using your driver and it’s worked great but I’m not getting any AQI reports since I updated. It’s not even showing in the current states or capabilities section.
