New: Third Reality Power monitoring plug

I see. That starts to make sense to me.

I guess I didn't realize that the device was only reporting power (watts) and not other values like current, etc. It must be at least reporting voltage or current in order to calculate other values.

Looking back, looks like it only reports RMS current and voltage. Everything else is calculated:

Got a message today - Hub load elevated. I use a 'Third Reality Power Monitoring Plug' driver from HPM - I see others have switched to generic outlet. Does it also report power?

I use "Generic Zigbee Outlet" and have no issues with it. I use it to monitor power for my washing machine, along with a couple other plugs for other items.

Bought this plug and finally got it connected, however it won't respond to on/off commands from Hubitat. I can turn it on & off by pressing the physical button on the side of the device, and when I do so, it shows up in the logs, so the device is clearly communicating with Hubitat. I'm using the Generic Zigbee Outlet "Type", although I've also tried the Third Reality Plug "Type." I clicked save, configure & refresh after each change. I've rebooted the hub. The device still won't respond to commands from Hubitat.

The log shows this:

Any ideas?

Not sure if it matters, but at first, I had trouble getting the device paired; it was blinking green & red instead of just red. Neither the directions in the box nor the online pdf (at https://3reality.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Smart-Plug-Gen2_UM_20240711.pdf) offered a direct solution, but I finally figured out it had somehow been put in bluetooth mode. I then followed the directions at Smart Plug FAQ - THIRDREALITY to get it into Zigbee mode, and it then paired immediately.

These ZDO messages (clusterId:0006 – ZDO Match_Desc_req, clusterId:8001 – ZDO IEEE_addr_rsp) are a symptom of an incomplete Zigbee pairing process.

Pair the device once again (without removing it). I use this pairing workaround .

@kkossev : THANK YOU !!
Although I could not use all of your pairing workaround since I'm on a C-7 which does not offer the option to rebuild the Zigbee network (nor an option to avoid Zigbee 3.0), I did some googling and found an option to simulate the rebuild. However, before trying that I decided to just attempt to repair the device. I moved it to within 2" of the hub, clicked add device in HE, and once HE was in pairing mode, held the button on the Third Reality Plug until it blinked red, and shortly after that it paired. It now seems to function normally, so for now, I'm calling it fixed!

Thank you!!
