I thought the Chinese company had a 30% stake and took over manufacturing. Did they sell 100% to the Chinese company?
I don't see any reference to Osram anywhere. But I haven't done a deep dive on it.

It was sold off to a Chinese conglomerate:
In July 2016, the former general lighting lamps business of OSRAM SYLVANIA was carved out into a separate legal entity, LEDVANCE LLC. In March 2017, LEDVANCE LLC was sold to a consortium of Chinese companies consisting of the investor IDG Capital, the Chinese lighting company MLS Co., Ltd. (MLS) and the financial investor Yiwu State-Owned Assets Operation Center (Yiwu).
Here's the response I got from Sylvania:
The LIGHTIFY name has been re-branded to SMART+. Our new SMART+ line includes both Bluetooth and ZigBee smart lighting products. These products have the added benefit of enhanced technology to help make the products more reliable and adaptable for future enhancements. Please note that the slightly different technology used inside our ZigBee bulbs may mean different compatibility with ZigBee systems. We are working on incorporating all our new SMART+ products with the most popular systems, but always double check to make sure your product is supported.
Unfortunately, they didn't answer if I can firmware update the Lightify to SMART+ features, but it sounds like that's a no. I'll be returning the Lightify's for SMART+s.
I went through this some time ago. What I discovered from Sylvania is that the RGB bulbs will remember their setting through power cycles. BUT, it takes them a while to learn their setting. Leave them on for at least five minutes to the desired setting and they should turn back on with the pre power off setting, both color and intensity. If that doesn't work then they have indeed changed something in the design.
did you ever figure this out my wife is teh same way,, i have the new smart + ones, i jst want it to default back to daylight color, you have any good rules setup i coudl see or how did you get tehm to stick to the on color you wanted?
Just wanted to comment here as I was also looking for a solution to the lights staying a set color on power up.
To do this, you need to remove the lights first from the hub youโre using be it habitat or SmartThings. Then, plug in a Lightify hub you may have never used. Via the Lightify app after setting it up and letting it run firmware updates, pair your lights. They likely will also update their firmware.
Once the lights are set up and updated you then pick the color you want as the power in default.
Then in the upper right corner of the light screen, click the power switch and apply the new default.
Thatโs it. Once you do that - it writes that value to the light and you are good to go. You should then be able to remove the light from the Lightify app and add it back to your primary hub.
The other upside is the light may work better and be more responsive in your original app now as well. Hope this helps.
