New Router

Hello,

I have created a new router to get better WiFi. In the process I lost access to my habitat hub. I have done the following things that I’m sure are wrong and not sure where to go.

  • removed the hub. I couldn’t access it so I removed it.
  • unplugged and re-plugged back in. Whoops.

Not sure what you mean with "remove" or how you're trying to access it in the first place, but in any case, the first thing I'd try is a network reset on the hub:

This should only be necessary if you set a static IP (and if you new router uses different ranges that could explain your problem), but it can't hurt regardless.

Also, if you haven't tried using http://findmyhub.hubitat.com to search for your hub on your network yet, I'd try that after (or even before) the above.

Do you have a static IP address on your hub? Is the subnet the same on your new router LAN (3rd set of numbers) ?

if your new router has a different subnet, and you set a static on your HE hub, hold the button on the bottom to change it back to DHCP

Thank you to everyone who replied. Somehow when I got home from work, the hub was able to be added back onto my log in easily and everything was still set. I don’t know if that was the recommended way, but unplugging it and putting the Ethernet into the new router then powering it on enabled it to all sync back together.
