So I've searched for this and I'm not finding it. So, forgive me if this is a repeated request, Currently, you can manually Pause/Resume a rule (see screen capture below). I'd like to request the ability to select Resume After Xtime (Days or Hours). I have a couple of rules I fire on weekdays when I'm working and would like to Pause/Resume-After them when on vacation.
You can do this now. When selecting rules to pause/resume you have the option to delay after selecting the rules you want to pause or resume.
you can also make another rule that controls virtual switches for you and have them turn off and on at a time/day and use those virtual switches to enable/disable the rule
Thank you! I did something like this with a triggered rule, Every morning at 12:01 am, I check to see if I'm between two dates. If true, I pause whatever rules. If False I enable those rules.
What I was hoping to do was have each rule get paused/resumed independently of each other without having to create another rule.
But the above method gets me by for now
I'm not following? How do I do this?
I use modes to control devices and automations in my home. When in away most most everything turns off but there are some devices that I keep on when in away. When on vacation I wanted these to turn off so I created a “vacation” virtual switch that I toggle and it takes care of the rest and sets thermostats to vacation/away hold. In RM rules and simple lighting restrictions settings many of my rules have my vacation switch as the switch to disable the rule so it won’t fire while on vacation as example.
If you know the exact dates/times you may find the Cobra App "scheduled Switch" to be of value here.
Thank you all! That's what I really appreciate about this forum. You have a problem? People trip over themselves to help out.
You can also just restrict a rule based on dates also.
