New IKEA Tradfri lamp

Hubitat C5 running 2.4.3.173

I have had a couple of IKEA lamps running for years, without IKEA hub
1x TRADFRI bulb E27 WS opal 1000lm
1x TRADFRI bulb E14 WS opal 600lm

the E27 one started getting flickery when at low levels, so I've replaced it with

1x TRADFRI bulb B22 WS globe opal 1055lm

It detected a new device ok, but it chose to use the driver "Advanced zigbee RGB bulb" when the old bulbs were using "Generic zigbee CT bulb", I have manually changed it to "Generic zigbee CT bulb" and also tried "Advanced zigbee CT bulb".

Imitially I used the "replace device" wizard, to avoid having to add the new bulb in all the same places tge old one was used, this partly worked but Google Home integration would complain on operations involving the new lamp. Eventually Idecided to delete the new device, redetect it and not use the "replace device" option, I gave it a completely different name, it still detected it as RGBW so I put it back to generic CT

Added the new lamp back to Google Home on my phone.

The new BC22 lamp obeys simple on/off voice commands and Google Home commands frpm my phone, but doesn't obey colour temperature or dimming commands from either voice or phone, the older E14 lamp still works properly.

The new lamp does obey dimming and colour temperature commands within the Hubitat web ui devices tab, but not from the dashboard.

Has anyone else used one of the new BC22 bulbs?
it seems a bit confused whether it is CT or RGBW

Just noticed in the logs when I try to change brightness of the new bulb via google voice command, it shows

"dev:2032025-12-28 16:27:30.344
error java.lang.NumberFormatException:
Character A is neither a decimal digit number, decimal point, nor "e" notation exponential mark. on line 135 (method setLevel)"

You should consider to use the IKEA driver ([RELEASE] IKEA Zigbee drivers - #654 by PunchCardPgmr).

I don't know if it fixes your issue, but it is worth a try :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks, I've not really kept up with developments lately, just let my hubitat setup vegetate, I'll report back ...

I think HPM is new since I last did much with my hubitat, I seem to have installed it ok, but can't figure out how to use HPM to install the IKEA zigbee drivers, none of the search options finds anything I can install :frowning:

OK, I hadn't completed the MatchUp, so now I can get it installing the drivers ...

With the IKEA zigbee drivers bundle installed, I was able to select "IKEA White Spectrum Light" as the driver for the new B22 1055 lm bulb, and changing colour temperature and brightness level worked. This driver can do timed transitions within the device commands tab, just like before, but when turning on/off from Google Home all transitions are abrupt, ot gradual, not sure if this is expected?

I was also pleased to see that firmware upgrades are now possible, so upgraded the old E14 600 lm bulb, this bulb didn't work so well with the white spectrum driver, but putting it back to the "Generic zigbee CT bulb" still works as before.

Unfortunately overnight the new 1055 lm bulb has disappeared from Google Home ... still exists within Hubitat Devices tab though ...
