New Hubitat Elevation Model C-7 Available

Cool. This is the stuff I don't know much about so thanks. So then I couod have the new hub with it's internal zigbee AND the old c4 with the stick both connected to one zigbee network? Not that I will but just so I get it. Luckily I only have one zwave device my garage door and then my shclage lock but I have that integrated into ring alarm which is its own zwave network

Thanks, I'll do it right now.

No, this is not possible. Only one Zigbee controller per Zigbee mesh network. The procedure above explains how to migrate from one hub to another. Basically, backup old hub database, restore to new hub, reset Zigbee device, pair it with new hub and it will pop back into its old device slot.

ok thanks. so i do still have to reset each zigbee device. mostly light bulbs and outlets.

To get from a usb stick to the hub’s internal zigbee coordinator, yes.

Got mine today also (shipping was much faster than I expected). Now I have absolutely nothing to use it for because I plan on having it replace my primary hub, once I can migrate that to the new one. But have to wait until that service is available from Hubitat. So until then, this one will just have to sit.

Ok, I too just got mine too but...
I also can't really do anything with it until I can migrate from my C5.
I stumbled across this:

https://hubitat.com/products/hubitat-elevation%C2%AE-hub-protection

Sold out???
I assume it means not ready yet??
Any way I could buy a beta version or something so I can get started with this?
TIA,
Jim

I assume that was the easiest way for them to disable purchases until they have everything ready.

Got my C-7 today. As a SmartThings user looking to move over, I'm shocked by how small this thing is. My Tivo Stream box was bigger!

Can the antennas really be big enough to reach as far as ST's hubs do?

This thought just came to my mind.. Just when did ST become the reference for HE?

They only have to reach as far as the closest repeater. After that it's the repeater's antenna that matters

Perform a ZWave Repair at any 'pause point' -- let's say you have a room with 3 devices.. you migrate one, do a repair, migrate two, do a repair, migrate three, do a repair... OR, migrate all three and do a repair because at that point, you're pausing before tackling the next room/area.

On the other hand, I wouldn't do 20 devices in one room and then do a repair.. there's just too many variables to narrow down if everything is working correctly. I'd do a repair and count the number of devices and verify that's the total I'm expecting.

For those of us moving to HE, it will remain so until it's done, I think...

Unless you're coming from Vera, or Wink, or Staples Connect or...

Then THOSE are the reference, right?

Of course, which is why I started with 'As a ST user...'

Don't get me wrong. HE is a platform for real users while IMHO ST is mostly for the company behind it. These two platforms can't really be compared at the moment and in the near future they will be absolutely different.

Which is why Hubitat is an attractive alternative to ST. Still, I think it's surprising how small the hub is.

Excited to start my migration.

LOL  HE is going it's path guided by most intelligent people. If they were in EU we'd probably had them speak to thousands somewhere in London, Warsaw or Berlin.

well the new c7 doesnt have usb so moving the stick is not an option.

although i did plug it into my pc running hassio and all my maker api zigbee devices were still working in HA. i still have the hubitat on but the stick wasnt in the hubs usb port.
