New hub, diagnostic page works, UI does not

Hi all -- brand new hubitat owner planning to migrate from smart things, and unfortunately things are off on the wrong foot (which could be my issue).

Basic info:

  • Static IP / DHCP reservation assigned in router
  • Hubitat hub picks up reserved IP address
  • Blue light is shown on hubitat hardware
  • I can ping it on my network
  • I can load diagnostic page in a web browser using 192.168.2.160:8081
  • I can discover the hub using the 'advanced' method in portal dot hubitat dot com (after identifying my subnet to search in)
  • clicking on the image in the portal to load the UI, or going directly to the private-ip does nothing... specific error message follows

(Firefox below, though no other browsers work either):

Contact support. I think you need a replacement. The platform isn’t loaded.

P.S. Welcome - and sorry about this!

Thanks, bummer, but I thought so as well after going through the basic troubleshooting. I just ran a port scan on the device and it's not listening on port 80, just 8081. Will wait for support to respond.

Would recommend you email them and get a ticket going.

Getting exactly the same issue here with my brand new C7. Have logged a support request already.
@aaiyar I expect I have the same issue as the user in the OP.

Sorry to hear that. I remember how frustrating it was. If it’s any consolation, it’s worth the wait. I’ve moved over about 80% of my smart things devices and automations (around 140 physical / virtual devices ) so far and I’m one happy convert.

Most helpful device along the way was a Z-stick for quick exclusion of zwave devices. If you don’t have one and have a lot of zwave, order one while waiting. It’ll save you a lot of time when yours arrives!

Agreed. As an alternative suggestion along the same lines, aeotec minimotes work great for this also. And other zwave remotes like the ones made by Remotec.
