Tried every way I can find, repeatedly
You didn’t mention what you’ve tried.
Have you looked through the “getting started” instructions in the hub documentation pages?
I’ve done this at least two dozen times. Used my phone, the website, tried entering the MAC number, Bluetooth. literally every way i can find ad nauseum. I sent in two help requests. No reply
Sounds like you’re having trouble trying to onboard the hub via WiFi.
Do you see the hub’s temporary network, mynewhubitat?

Tried wifi and hard line to my router
I just tried getting my new C8 pro migrated. It kinda stopped working. I had to unplug the ethernet cable, then pressed the reset button on the bottom (hidden, looks like a gold dot in a vent hole). That reset the wifi, I connected to that wifi on my phone then was able to connect to the hubitat.local:8081 and the diagnostic/help page came up for it (may have to login with mac address shown on the hub sticker). I was able to reset/restart and it was discoverable from my PC again and I went from there.
So what exactly happens when you browse to http://go.hubitat.com?
when I get to find my hub I get nothiing. have disabled my VPN, turned off my protection. Nothing. Hours spent
Can I plug directly into the Hub with a Mac?
what is the default wifi? what is hubitat.local:8081
8 hours. no number to call to talk to a human being. Early adopter. figured I’d buy the latest. I’ll send it back and get another, see if that one works.
when the button resets the Wi-Fi or I think when the new hub boots up, it will transmit a Wi-Fi signal with an SSID of something obviously habitat. So with your phone, you can connect to that Wi-Fi. You won’t have any Internet, but when you type in the hubitat.local:1081 in the address bar of the browser on your phone it should connect to that hub in a troubleshooting webpage where you can select different options for rebooting, updating, etc.
after cycling Power on the hub, it may take several minutes before you can connect to it. I think the LED turns solid green.
That’s not very descriptive. Maybe you can share a screenshot or two of what you’re seeing when you browse to that page.
Does the hub have power with a green LED lit on the front?
Yes it’s true that support is provided here in the forum.
That may not solve the problem if it has something to do with your LAN that the hub is trying to get connected to.
Another way of finding it.
If you are using windows, you can download a program called “advanced ip scanner”, or “angry ip scanner”.
There is also a version for Linux that is downloadable.
You are looking for something like this:
Notice the first 6 digits of the mac address.
I agree, resetting the network via the reset button seems like an obvious first thing to try when it appears the hub is not even getting on the network.
I haven't seen any info from @Randy about the color of the hub light. If it is green it got on the network, so we have to assume it is not green.
- Solid Blue: The hub is booting up or the main platform is having issues, though the diagnostic tool may still be running.
- Flashing Blue and Red: The hub is having trouble connecting to your network or is searching for a Wi-Fi connection.
- Flashing Red and Green: The hub is disconnected from your Local Area Network (LAN). [1, 2, 3, 4]
I think it will be very difficult to help troubleshoot with so few details being shared by the OP.
Green light. Unplugged the cable . reset the wifi. Tried every single method of setting it up I can find, for 8 hours. Please tell me what I need to tell you. Reset the box. Followed the instructions implicitly. Tried hard line, tried wifi. Tried different cables. Restarted computer.. Turned off VPN, and all spyware/protection software. Is there a master reset other than the wifi gold button. I don’t know what else I can tell you.

If the hub is connected via Ethernet then it’s usually possible to confirm the hub is on the LAN from the router’s UI.
What kind of VPN and spyware/protection software are you running?
malwarebytes
