New C-8 - doesn't seem to span WIFI or connect DHCP

Got a new C-8

  • Plugged in Ethernet, started, green light -> not in IP table for DHCP server, not in ASP table
  • With no Ethernet, started, green light, can't find "MyNewHubitat" as WiFi

did all of the above several times. Any other ideas what to do?
If not, who do I contact for replacement?

Yes. Only finds my existing unit. And I don't see it in the IP table, so the issue is deeper I think

Did you try hitting the Advanced Discory button on that page?

yes. Tried by range and MAC.
Didn't give me any message or feedback though - not even a "done searching, found nothing"

But again - it's not the router's IP table and it doesn't seem to span it's own WIFI as in the manual...so I think it's DOA

If the LED is green chances are good that it's there and active, we just don't know the correct IP. Just to check the box, can you turn the hub over and push the network reset button for about 7 seconds to see if that will help.

Is there a physical reset anywhere? Can't seem to find it

Just the network reset (only round hole)

If its plugged into ethernet it wont start the setup AP on the Wifi.
Also, if it has nothing connected at all the LED would flash red/green.

Try the network reset as suggested, see if it helps. You have to hold that button for 10 seconds then let go, LED will flash blue and then the hub will reboot.

OHHH, down there.....YEAH, reset did it, Spans a WIFI now
