I received a new C-5 hub about a week ago and I am having some network issues with it. The Ethernet port is bouncing up & down very frequently. I have two more C-4 hubs that don't show this problem. I have exchanged the network cable once with one of the working hubs and also tried to exchange the power cable and power adapter.
The network port is set to auto negotiate but I also tried to set it to fixed 100M.
Factory reset was done and all of these tries show the same results. There is not a single device or app on the hub as I don't want to go through the effort of configuring everything and then losing it again....
Here is the output of a continuous ping. The left is a working C-4 hub to right is the new C-5 hub.
Has anybody seen something similar with a C5 hub and found a solution to it? The admin web page is pretty sluggish and not really usable. I have opened a support ticket about a week ago but I guess support pretty swamped as I am still waiting for a response. That's why I figured I ask in the community...
I assume you have reached out to support@hubitat.com as well. If you have nothing installed on your hub and have factory rest it, then there is likely something wrong with it that only they can diagnose.
Yes, tried a different switch, switch port, same switch port as a different hub that works fine, new cables, etc.
It negotiates to 100M full duplex, like my other hubs, so that seems correct
@bobbyD actually looked at it this morning (thanks again) and asked me to be a bit patient and wait for the next release. Keeping my fingers crossed....
If they were super savvy, they would be saying "how can we release a NEW hub with 5x the specs at 5x the cost and get all those multi-hub users to buy a new hub all over again so that they can consolidate back to 1 hub".
