New Application

I have been running Hubitat on an older iPad mounted on the wall and available for the non- technical in the house to control various functions.
I have just discovered that the new Hubitat app will not run on this iPad and after a number of attempts I cannot get the old app to connect again.
I can't see me buying another iPad in the near future, so what are the options?

Browser should still be able to access.

As @thebearmay mentioned, hopefully the web browser on that iPad is still supported by Hubitat. If so, you can simply create Hubitat Dashboards on the HE hub, and then 'pin' a shortcut to that dashboard URL on the home screen of your iPad. This will allow the dashboard to be easily opened like an 'app' on your iPad and will not have the traditional web browser controls. It will look like an app to end-users.

Thanks to thebearmay and ogiewon. I will consider this suggestion, but I am dubious that it has the simplicity for other family members and visitors.
Are there any other iPad like, but simpler tablets/ displays that I could consider?

Have you considered using Guided Access on your iPad? This is essentially kiosk mode that locks it to a single application (in your case the browser). And you can setup a bookmark on the iPad for your Dashboard. Also, make the Dashboard the homepage.

Thank you, but I feel that your suggestion is beyond my capabilities.
Additionally, the iPad has a few other useful apps, i.e. Calendar, 3 security cameras, MelCloud, Hue , Tado and Shelly.

Do you have an IP reserved for the hub on your home network? Because the old app still works on my phone and iPad.

Yes the hub has a fixed IP address and I can reach it on that address on a browser on the old iPad but it gives a rudimentary display and does not connect to the Dashboard I use for the iPad.
I tried reinstalling the old app on the iPad but it made no difference. All our other Apple devices have the later Hubitat app so there is no problem with them.
Oh well, it looks as though my Wife will get a new iPad for her next Birthday, I will use the one released for the wall mount and the old one will go for recycling. I do hate waste.
