Nest Doorbell Motion Detection Triggering Lights

Hi all,

I am trying to find out if there is a way to tap into the motion detection properties of a doorbell. I currently have a SimpliSafe doorbell that I am looking to switch out with a Nest(or maybe Unifi) doorbell in the future. Ideally, I would like to know if it is possible to use the motion detection on a doorbell to trigger the porch lights to come on if someone is approaching instead of buying a separate outdoor motion sensor.

I currently have the Google SDM API (Nest Integration) by dkilgore90 and use it with my thermostats but since I don't have a Nest doorbell I don't know what properties I can control with it yet.

Does anyone with the Nest integration setup know if this is possible?

Yes, the integration handles all events exposed by the API. For the current doorbell (battery) model being sold, the API documentation indicates Motion, Person, and Chime (button pressed) events.

Nice! Thank you!
