Need zwave advice

I have a fibaro smart implant that should arrive tomorrow that I want to expierment with. I plan on using it for a backup device later in case a zigbee device I'm using now fails. I plan on removing it from the mesh after I play with it. I have 37 zwave devices on my C8 and never had any problems but read about ghost and other problems I would like to avoid. If I do a cloud backup would things go back to how they are now if I have problems excluding it? Also have a C7 with zigbee devices, zwave radio off. Should maybe I turn on that zwave radio and pair to it? Looking for advice so I don't have a ghost if exclude does not go well.

As you are thinking, you could also use the C7 and if you run into issues there you could just do a radio reset since you don't use it for z-wave normally. Just keep in mind the range might not be as good since no external antenna.

I guess if I use the C7 no neighbors could elimenate some excluding problems. @jtp10181 I always trust your advice, which way would you do it.

If you just want to test the device itself out I would put it on the C7.
If you originally migrated z-wave from the C7 to the C8, just make sure you have done a z-wave radio reset since the migration so that it does not have the same network ID.
