Need help please

Hello everyone. Noob here. Well, not so new but new to hubitat.

Is there anyone in my area (Henderson , KY)?

I believe I will be able to use hubitat once I get my feet under me.

In the past I have programmed plc's for industry so I doubt it is any harder that that. Lol

When I started home automation stuff, it was 433 mhz devices. Then lately I had gone with the smart life app and tuya devices, both zigbee and wifi. No z-wave.

Now that I have my system built, I have noticed with smart life app, it is dependent on Internet and I want to get away from that so I have local control of my devices. I will worry about remote control (away from home) later.

So, as you can all see, I need help. Anyone close that can lend me some brain cells?

Thanks in advance.

Paul

Your zigbee devices should be able migrate over. The bigger question is are you looking at automation or UI based device control?

Hey thebearmay, actually, looking for both ui control (ie phone or tablet) and some automation of some devices with local control. That is why i purchased a c7 unit. I do not mind having control from anywhere but control at home is essential. I was using the smart life app with mostly tiya wifi devices. (Power plugs, light bulbs, wifi switches tyua zigbee hub, etc.).
Once recently, when our internet went out, i would control nohing. The next day, i went looking for local control on google.

Go figure, a very deep rabbit hole!

Thanks in advance.

I have now gotten my pressing prolems taken care of. (Full reset) tends to make things go away. Lol. Well, not exactly. I had created multiple problem that culminated in me not being able to update the hub or install any packages. Ooof. I fat fingered the network setup and put the wrong gateway in. Then i tried to turn on security but i also enabled the ssl force thing, and that is what locked me out.

Well, it is working now and tonight I installed some sensors and a fingerbot to start trying things out.

Thanks again.
