How to control latest Nanoleaf Skylight which appears to now support Thread (but not Matter) along with WiFi. Biggest issue is their control board does not behave or recover well with line power on/off from wall switch. Hate to rely on phone app for simple on/off/presence/scene/timer functions. I'm looking to level up my automations on a new C-8 pro hoping for control of more WiFi devices.
Since it supports Wi-Fi, have you tried Hubitat's built-in Nanoleaf Integration app, which is meant for their Wi-Fi (rather than Matter) devices and is likely to work?
I've not upgraded my hub yet, so I've no experience controlling WiFi (or Thread), devices via Hubitat. I don't have a preference, but this device claims only Thread & WiFi but not Matter support. I was hoping for some confirmation that someone had this particular Skylight product working solidly either way.
I'm not sure what you mean. No hub upgrade is necessary for this. The LIFX Integration, which works for their Wi-Fi devices, works all the back to the original C-3/C-4 hubs. (Matter is only available on the C-5 or newer, but as you note, this product does not use Matter. It just happens to also offer Thread as an alternative transport layer.)
That I haven't done, but lots of others have used Wi-Fi LIFX devices without problem. Perhaps someone with this particular model will comment if they see this. Good luck!
