My Hubitat keeps crashing and be unresposive

Good day everyone,

My Hubitat keeps crashing and be unresponsive to even access it thru its IP address. All the rules are exactly the same as they were for the last month but something has made it unresponsive. I have to unplug it from its power wait a few seconds and plug it back in, then it works for a few minutes or hours and crashes again.

What should I try before contacting support?

Do you have Chrome cast integration (beta) app running?
Or the built in Alexa app?

Nothing.. contact them immediately.

In parallel then, while waiting for your ticket to bubble to the top... can you describe what did change. Did you upgrade to 2.0.9 recently, for example?

Yes, I am running the latest firmware. I never learn the lesson to be an early adopter

2.0.9.133

2.0.9 isn't 'early' any more, since 2.1 is probably in Beta already.

You can however, revert

Go to Settings:Backup and Restore and there in the middle is a link to the Hub's mechanism for rolling back.

It's fast and easy to go back and do the upgrade later.

I had Chrome cast integration (beta) app running, so I have uninstalled it but still it is unresponsive once again. Let me see if I have the Alexa app so I can disable it as well but the problem started on Sunday and I had both the Chrome cast integration (beta) app running and Alexa App running for at least a month already. I have paused most of my rules in case one of them was causing a circular reference/loop issue but that's not the case either.

Any change the Hubitat board is bad so I can claim the warranty?

With it happening that fast, I would pause/temporarily disable ALL the apps and see if it changes. If it doesn't stop crashing then, wait for support.

At that point they may have you roll back firmware (if you have a backup) or factory reset.

If it still does it after that, it is likely a hardware issue and will need to be replaced. Hardware does fail sometimes.

Awesome, thanks for the info.
