Well my first Sengled Bulb I installed with my original C-4 hub has decided to self terminate. It stopped responding to commands about 5:00 pm Saturday, Power cycled the bulb and it was working again and then about 1 hour latter same condition. Moved it to a new location to rule out my ZigBee network and same results in the other end of the home. Pulled a new bulb out of inventory and paired it and used the Hubitat replace and that bulb has been working well for two days now.
I would say having a good run since that bulb was purchased in 2018 and lasted 8 years of long on time and lots of cycles of off and on. Right now I have it in temporary fixture and plan to do some diagnosis like reset the bulb and more tests. Also I still have the Sengled Hub and app on a old android phone and may pair it with that and see if there is firmware available for it.
I used Sengleds for several years, eleven of them. They "mostly worked" but would occasionally need a power cycle to wake back up. A couple of years ago I paid the Hue tax and replaced them all. Not a single issue since. The one plus for Sengleds is they are not repeaters so when they go for a walkabout nothing else is affected.
Never had any issues with my 20+ Sengled's but I do have outlets that are repeaters around the house. Like I said I think the service life on the bulb has been exceeded.
That tax , like federal income tax, really pisses me off. But I have to say I have 3 Hue white bulbs and they make excellent repeaters, very strong, and the Zigbee map app shows all connections green. In about a year w/Hue and I can't recall having to reboot/restart them, they just work.
Sengleds, I wound up removing from my mesh, as they would lock up and require a power cycle. My Sylvania downlights used to do this, but after placing 3 Inovelli Blue Zigbee switches in the room, the lights are pretty rock solid.
I have 14 Sengled Classic bulbs in service. Have had them there for almost 2 years and have never had one issue with any of them requiring a power cycle or dropping from the network.
I have one to two repeating devices in each room they are in. That may have something to do with it but honestly they have been great.
My 12 Sengleds were great for several years and then a few began having random issues. The surrounding Zigbee environment was unchanged over that time. I gave them away for the cost of shipping. Hope they work well for the new owner.
They may have been getting close to end of life like the OP said their's was. I just recently experienced a vibration sensor starting to cause havoc on my mesh after being installed for almost 2 years with basically nothing changing with it. It is crazy how this stuff will just happen sometimes. Moved it to HA and it is playing well over there. Glad the Hue bulbs are working out good for you.
