Mute Google Home mic w/out muting Google Home speaker

I've done some searching, but everything I find is about muting speaking, not disabling the microphone to stop it from listening.

I'd like to mute the microphone of a Google Home mini we have at home, but keep the speaker active for announcements. Is there a way to do that, either via HE, or via GH? I couldn't figure it out...

There's a physical slide switch in the back that turns off the mic. It sets the lights to a red orange color unfortunately. But I was able to cast pandora to it while muted. Not sure about TTS didn't try that.
