Moved Hub to new Home

I recently moved and have a new router and wifi network. I am able to connect to my hub only through the remote admin connection. It wont connect locally. Everything is working perfectly.

How can i update the hubs IP or do something so that it connects via the local connection?

By default the HUB is setup for DHCP so you'll need to get into your router to figure out what IP address it has now. With a new router, the address has changed. Most routers should list the mac address of each device, compare it with the mac on the Hubitat to find it. Once you find it you'll also want to setup a dhcp reservation in the router so it gives out that same address forever.

I dont get it. Should i get the old IP Address from my old router?

If you can get to it using the remote admin option, it already has an IP on your network, you just need to discover it. Multiple ways of doing this, but I generally go into the router and bring up the attached devices list and look for it there.

What kind of router do you have?

So that’s the thing. I had an orbi router and set the Hubitat to a static IP. But I moved and get free WiFi. So I have an IoGear wireless Ethernet adapter that the Hubitat is plugged into.

Gotcha, so you have no control over the router. Well since you have remote access, do this. Log into your hub remotely, go to settings, and then Hub Details. Should show you the local IP.

Yes. I have that. What should I do with that info?

Throw it into a web browser, should pull up your hub

So that’s the only way to access it locally?

Unless you are taking about the phone app? There is a Find Hub option in the Tools section.

It doesn’t find anything I’m there.

Try: http://hubitat.local/

This is working now. I can access it locally. If only the app did this!

Can you provide a screenshot of what happens via the app?
