Motion sensor not triggered

I have SONOFF SNZB-03. I have installed it at a low shoulder height, so that my tiny kids can also trigger it without fail. Today I noticed that when i went in front of it, it did not register a motion. It is installed right at my shoulder height, and I was standing next to it moving around to try and make it see me, bit nothing happened. I did not even flash its LED, which means that the hardware did not register motion?

I then went into my hubitat page, and preseed the "refresh" tile in the notion sensor device page. Then I went back in front my my sensor, and it immediately triggered motion event. You can see from below log that after 9:38 AM there was no further event. The event at 11:34 AM happened, after I clicked on the refresh button and went back in front of the sensor.

Any thoughts on why this failed?

Hmmm if the LED isnt even flashing yeah it does seem like a HW thing. I would think if the LED flashes but HE does not register an event then it's a mesh thing (bathrooms are notoriously difficult). But if the HW doesn't see motion it's something else.

I use a lot of SONOFF stuff so I'm not knocking it but they have not proven to be at the top of the quality scale. Could it be a low battery?

In the device page, battery shows as 100. Is this the correct way to check? This is a brand new sensor I received and installed just a few weeks back.

Yup! Sure is! You could also try re-including (do not exclude first) the device. That will leave your rules intact but kind of re-sync the device. May or may not do any good. Does the SONOFF have a sensitivity adjustment? I'm thinking no... What time did the "failed" events take place? The sensor has a "reset" period that might be as much as a couple of minutes so it might fail to catch two motion events in a row. Seems like a long shot from your description of the issue.

I have quite a few of them and the battery percentage like most battery devices are not even close to accurate. The only flash you can see is very quick flash at first motion and then a one minute cool down period. The presence on them is nice because they seem to become not present as the battery gets low.

Don't trust battery readings. I've rarely seen them accurate. Change out the battery just to be sure.
