I have the following motion lighting app setup. While the lights do turn on during the correct mode, what I find despite have the "disable off during evening/night modes" set, is that if I turn off the bar lights in this case it also turns off the other two lights during evening/night mode. I want the lights to turn on with motion, but during certain modes in this case evening/night mode, if I turn off the bar lights I do not want the other lights also turning off.
By having "Switches to turn off lights" set to Bar Lights, you are telling it to turn off all of the lights with the Bar Lights switch. Just remove that, and you can then turn off Bar Lights without it turning the others off. That selection is for when you want a master off switch.
Disable off during a mode is for disabling motion inactive turning off the lights. It has no effect on the master off switch.
I was originally using turn on/off with so that the Alexa child device would know which state the light is in if I physically turn the light on/off.
So would this setting allow the lights to turn on by motion but with motion inactivity they would not turn off?
Having the Alexa child device reflect the state of the light shouldn't be an issue.
This is correct.
So I modified the motion lighting app as follows and only have it active during two morning modes as you can see. But if I turn on the lights they will still turn off after 15 minutes. I checked the event log for this app and it is indeed turning off the lights, but currently HE is in evening mode so it should not be turning them off.
You still need the Off option of not turning off in the other modes.
Thanks, this worked.
