Is anyone using lux as a condition for their motion lighting?
Have you tested the speed of lights coming on when using and not using lux?
I find itās noticeably slower when checking against lux.
Yes, although I'm not using RM. With Simple Automation it isn't any slower when lux is included in the conditions. I get response times <= .5 second either way. I measure with the logged times in HE.
Iām using the motion lighting app.
Iām pulling lux from the darksky driver device.
Never used it but doesn't that have to call out to some url to get the current number? If so there's your delay.
I only use the lux from my sensors and find no noticeable difference. I'm not home now but from memory the logs show that ML records the lux everytime it updates so shouldn't be waiting for it to poll darksky.
