I'm running Platform Version 2.3.5.152 on a C5 hub.
Recently, I noticed that one of the 15 Motion and Mode Lighting rules stopped working. The rule was created over a year ago and has been unchanged and working fine since. I figured that the issue was simply that the battery in the motion detector triggering the rule had died, so I replaced the battery....no change.
The motion detector device is fine -- HE shows the battery value, the motion status, and other rules with that device (humidity sensor) trigger.
I then checked the Motion and Mode Lighting App rule, and was surprised to get the error:
Unexpected Error
An unexpected error has occurred trying to load the app. Check Logs for more information.
Error: Cannot get property 'value' on null object
I rebooted the hub, but the issue remains.
All the Motion and Mode Lighting Apps rules are showing the same error.
I restored the oldest available backup on the hub, but the issue remains.
Before restoring the rules, the other apps (triggered by different motion detectors) were working -- perhaps the battery in the first motion detector did fail in addition to the database corruption.
My Hub is on a UPS and has not had an unclean or unintentional shutdown/reboot in over a year.
Any suggestions for:
- running a comprehensive check of other database components (rather than manually poking at various apps, devices, and rules)
- recovering the 15 rules from Motion and Mode Lighting
- diagnosing a root cause of the issue
- preventing this in the future
