Most Popular Thermostats in 2023

Me too. I just wish i had a real wood stove instead of a wimpier wood insert.

My oil boiler is cold start snd runs for abot an hour every three dsys or so. It heats a 120 gal buffer tank that also does dhw.

The buffer tank was put in because of the rately used pelket boiler. I think I'm gonna run it this winter abd use up some of the 6 tons of pellets in the basement, assuming they're still good.

Excuse the typos.

thats exactly what i have done. as a safety precaution i have a rule that watches the house temp. if it falls below 50 the boiler comes on to prevent any pipe freezing. if the outside temp is above 68 the boiler doesn't come on at all. since i have a wood burning stove. in the winter the boiler never comes on. the wood stove keeps the house at 75. the only other times the boiler comes on is 5:30 am for 15 minutes and 5:30 pm for 15 minutes. thats just enough time to heat the water for showers.

there is no need for a thermostat. the added benefit is no smart devices are allowed to the internet so no statistics of when things happen are sent to any vendors. ecobee and nest both collect data and send it to them. they also bake into their devices that some functions don't work if you don't give up your data.
