So I'm not sure where to post as I'm not sure what is causing my issue. I have a Go Control Garage door opener. Installed in my old house it worked flawlessly. I moved and it worked for several months then stopped turns out I had to re-add it using zwave security. It worked for a few weeks and then started getting delayed results.
My rule is set so that when I approach the house the garage door opens automatically and then closes 2 minutes later.
Yesterday when I got home I opened the door manually (instead of automatically the way the rule runs based on presence of Life 360). The door opened about 10 minutes after.
Today I got home at 4:19pm EST hub saw my presence at exactly the right time fired the rule off nothing happened... almost exactly 4 hours later my garage door randomly opened presence is reporting fine. But I have no history or log that the door opened. My mom stopped by the house around noon this afternoon and opened up the garage door with her garage door remote control (not using a rule) I have record of that in my logs.
Garage door opener is directly below my hub i'd be surprised if it was more than 5 feet away. I'm thinking my garage door opener is bad. I had 2 fail on me in my last house after power outages. Any other options for garage door openers? Any other ideas on what could be wrong? I've included screen shots of my arrival today when hubitat says it sent the signal to the garage door, and the device history showing when the door opened around noon this afternoon.
If your door has a manual button then you could use the Zooz switch, along with a tilt or contact sensor.
I have several of the Iris branded Go control openers and they are finicky. I have had some that have failed, but not in the fashion you describe. They just stop working. There is a common failure on these that can be repaired. If the units beeps but never opens or closes it means the LED is burnt out and can be replaced with a new LED or a equivalent resistor value. It won't flash anymore but it will work. I repaired one I had.
All that being said I have started replacing mine with the Zooz relay/tilt sensor option, I like it better. My house has 4 garage doors, two on the house and two on my shop. I had bought a couple of spare openers after the end of the Iris system, I also replaced my two openers on my shop with the Zooz relay, So I have a few spares of the go control. When the ones on the house die I think I may replace them with a Zooz relay. The two go-control on my house pretty regularly have to be reset. I ended put a separate tilt sensor on the doors so I have a backup to let me know when the sensor is not updating properly.
In addition to the z-wave Zen16 or Zen17 option described by @JohnRob and @terminal3, there is also this zigbee option that is very inexpensive - less than $20 including a door sensor.
