Monoprice / Vision Motion detected as Zooz 4 in 1

I just "installed" a Monoprice 15271 Motion/Temperature sensor. This is similar/same(?) as the Vision ZP3102.

When discovered by HE the Zooz 4 in 1 sensor driver was chosen.

Monoprice Mfg ID = 0x109
Vision Mfg ID = 0x109
Zooz Mfgf ID = 0x27A

Why did HE think this device was a Zooz?

Also is there a better driver for the Monoprice / Vision?

Thanks

John

The original Zooz 4-in-1 Sensor had an identical fingerprint as the Monoprice 4-in-1 Sensor, but Zooz changed the manufacturer to 0x27A in their 16.9 firmware.

What's the deviceId of that Monoprice Motion/Temp sensor? It should be different then the Monoprice 4-in-1 sensor, which is 2101, and if it's different then I have no idea why Hubitat assigned it that driver.

Hi Kevin, Thanks for the response.

The device data is below. I was surprised not to find an ST driver for the Monoprice/Vision device. Are you aware of one?

Thanks
John

I just paired one of these a couple of days ago. I too would be interested in the appropriate driver to use. Right now I've got it set at "Generic Z-Wave Motion Sensor" and it works as such, but it would certainly be helpful if I could utilize the temperature data as well. (By the way, mine was purchased a few years ago, so it might be a slightly different model.)

The following is what I came up with upon discovery:

Manufacturer:0109Product Name:Generic Z-Wave Motion SensorModel Number:Unknown Part NumberdeviceTypeId:66

( @mike.maxwell : just FYI )

Found this thread searching for info on the Monoprice 4in1 sensor (Model15902).
I also notice it too adds as the ZooZ 4in1.
Issue is I can't change the Motion Retrigger time and it is stuck at a 15 min default.

Any suggestions?

For mine I found this in the manual:

image

In the device page I changed the driver to Basic Z-Wave tool (you might need to download it)

I changed parameter 1 to 5 (for 5 minutes)

I believe in the Z-Wave tool there are 3 entries:
from top to bottom
Parameter number
number of bytes
new value.

I used
1
1
5

Then go back to the original driver. Note if you press configure in the driver you will / may undo the changes you made with the Z-Wave tool.

Good luck

Was able to change the parameter to 1 minute. And it seems to work but in testing the motion sensor, I'm not a fan of the Monoprice. I have been testing it with a log file running and it periodically won't wake up on the first sign of motion. I'll play with the sensitivity but I only give these sensor 1.5 stars!
