I am relatively new here with C8 Pro and all is generally going very well. I have progressed to the point I want to rely on MODE changes. I have been able set the mode with commands and the various apps respond.
However, I cannot cause the MODE MANAGER to react to my two iPhones (me and wife) per the settings in Mode Manager. I am using the Presence sensing feature. I have validated the location on hub and geofence. The phones seem to report their status correctly on the phones. But, the Mode Mgr has never changed modes. I find nothing in the logs.??
I was going to delete and re-add the iphones but received the cautionary pop up that the phone is used in eight ways and I will break them if I delete the phone, so I have not tried this. I have rebooted the hub a couple of times without joy.
I did follow up on the documentation which promptly informed me to validate the MODE MANAGER release. I have release 2.0.5 and it seemed I needed a newer release. I removed and re-added the built in app and it remains 2.0.5??? Could this be my issue?
I'm not sure what documentation you found or what that summary is referring to, so a link might be helpful to explain that better.
What seems most likely is that, regardless of what you see on the main tab of the mobile app (assuming that's where you're looking), is that the presence events aren't actually getting generated by the device on your hub -- that or the app is miconfigured, perhaps configured to use the wrong device if you have more than one. Either is easy to verify, but I'd start with the first thing.
To check the first, go to the the device detail page for your mobile app device on the hub (the web UI, not the mobile app; go to Devices, then click/tap into the page for your mobile app device). Then click/tap "Events" to look at recent event history, and see if you see "presence" events for "present" and "not present" when you expect.
If that looks right, it could be something with Mode Manager. Maybe hit "Done" to verify that your settings were saved, or share a screenshot of your configuration here if you want a second set of eyes to verify that it looks like it should do what you want.
BERTABCD1234,
Thanks for your prompt response. I ran down the Events as you recommended, I had not been there so it proved a great insight and helpful.
The context of this is thus..... we have two phones and headed out for a road trip three days ago, The presence devices did not activate the away mode so I did it with a device command page shortly after departing. The event log validates this showing the device left but, the mode remained in Home mode. We returned today and the system was still in Away mode as desired. And the Mode Mgr did not go from Away mode to Home mode as events suggest it should have.
With your help, I think I have concluded the iphone presence sensors are working and I probably do not have Mode Mgr configured properly. I am attaching the Mode Mgr settings and the tell tale Event from our departure showing both devices did report, yet Mode did not change.
Perhaps I have discovered my self inflicted problem.
When I removed the HOME line from the SET MODES AT TIME options, the mode manager behaved as expected.
Although I had put the HOME line in, I never did set the times.
For the moment, I think I have returned to a known, working condition with mode manager and can do more in time.
